The current energy crisis in Europe probably hasn’t gone unnoticed by anyone. After last year’s record electricity prices, the demand for energy saving technology is at an all-time high. Electricity bills are as frequent topic as rising interest rates.

During the past couple of years, Redeye has held multiple events highlighting different aspects of the energy system. This time we will focus on the technology enabling a more efficient use of our current grid and helping reduce overall consumption.

Smart energy systems use sensors and communication to monitor and control the flow of electricity, allowing for more efficient use of resources and a reduction in power outages. Smart meters, for example, can provide real-time information on energy usage to consumers, enabling them to make more informed decisions about how to use energy.

Smart buildings, also known as intelligent buildings, use advanced technology to optimize the use of energy within the building. This can include things like automatically adjusting lighting and temperature based on occupancy and weather conditions, as well as the use of renewable energy sources such as solar panels.

Overall, smart energy systems aim to increase the reliability and efficiency of the power grid, reduce energy costs for consumers, and decrease the environmental impact of energy generation and consumption.
